Summary
- Before Google, finding information on the internet was tricky. You had to use different search engines like Ask Jeeves, LookSmart, or AltaVista.
- Each search engine was good at some things but not great overall. You often needed to use more than one search engine to find what you wanted.
- You would get average results, so using multiple platforms was necessary to get the full picture.
- Despite their flaws, these search engines were valuable because they helped gather information from all over the web, which was scattered in many places.

How To Take Action
I would suggest using a variety of resources to gather information for your business or personal growth goals, just like people used different search engines before Google. Start by exploring books, online articles, podcasts, and videos to get a wide range of insights. Each one might offer something unique, much like how different search engines were good at different things.
A good way to do this is by allocating a little time each day for research. Set aside 15 to 30 minutes daily to explore diverse sources. This small habit can give you a fuller picture and lead to better decisions without taking much time away from your other tasks.
Another suggestion is to develop lists of your favorite sources for quick access. Bookmark useful websites or subscribe to newsletters that align with your interests. This saves time and allows you to quickly pull from various sources whenever you need information.
For a hands-on approach, you can engage in online forums or social media groups relevant to your field. These platforms are like the different engines; each group may offer different insights, contributing to a more comprehensive understanding.
Lastly, learn to combine information from various sources to find innovative solutions or ideas for your business or personal life. Practice critical thinking by comparing and contrasting different pieces of knowledge. Over time, this practice will help you become smarter and more resourceful in reaching your goals.
