My Biggest SEO Lesson This Year

Summary

  • I learned that SEO content isn't a one-time job. It's important to keep an eye on how it does over time.
  • Give new content about four to six weeks, or even up to two to three months, to see where it stands in terms of rankings.
  • If the content isn't doing well, I can improve it by making it better or adding more supporting topics around it.
  • Getting backlinks is also important for building authority and improving content performance.
  • SEO isn't very complicated; it's an ongoing process of making pages better and building both site and topic authority.
  • Continuously improving and building authority is the way to succeed in SEO for the long term.

How To Take Action

I would suggest treating your SEO like a garden that needs regular care. After you publish new content, give it some time, around four to six weeks up to three months, to see how it performs in search rankings. This patience lets you understand where tweaks are needed.

A good way of boosting content performance is by revisiting it. You can upgrade it or add supportive articles that link back to it. This makes your content stronger and more attractive to search engines. It's a bit like adding more colors to a drawing; it makes the overall picture better.

I recommend pursuing backlinks, too. Backlinks are like votes of confidence from other websites. They tell search engines your content is valuable, which can improve your site's authority and rankings. Building these links over time can be really beneficial.

Remember, SEO is an ongoing process. It's about consistently enhancing your web pages and establishing authority in your field. By regularly updating and expanding your content, and steadily building backlinks, you're laying the foundation for long-term success.

Keep in mind, SEO doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Regular tweaks and updates are simple, cost-effective ways to improve and maintain your online presence. Stick with it, and watch your efforts grow into success over time.
