How I Run a 1M Business Working 1 Week Per Month (REALISTIC Plan)

Summary

  • I run two seven-figure businesses, working approximately 90 minutes a day, or 47 hours a month.
  • My businesses consist of a personal brand blog and a YouTube channel focused on monetization.
  • We produce 20 blog articles and six YouTube videos per month.
  • Our revenue streams include affiliate marketing, course sales, sponsorships, and ads, totaling about $160,000 per month.
  • Efficient workflow involves batching tasks, using tools like Notion, Google Docs, Google Drive, and Frame, with a strong emphasis on pre-production planning.
  • YouTube takes about 17 hours a month, mainly for ideation, scripting, shooting, and uploading videos.
  • The blog requires around 5 hours for keyword research and content planning, which is then outsourced to a writer.
  • Managing communities, writing, and editing emails takes another 20 hours monthly.
  • The rest of the time is spent on accounting, backend tasks, planning, and incidental activities.
  • Realistically, work hours may vary, with peak months requiring more effort.
  • Automating tasks and creating efficient systems are crucial to maintaining work-life balance.
  • Despite high revenue, actual profit after expenses and taxes is around $50,000 a month.
  • Juggling personal responsibilities, including family and pets, adds to the complexity of running a business.
  • Consistent content production is necessary for growth and maintaining a steady revenue stream.
  • Flexibility and adapting to changes in algorithms and consumer behavior are essential for long-term success.
  • Building a business part-time initially requires significant effort before it can become a full-time venture.

How To Take Action

I would suggest implementing task batching to save time and stay organized. For example, set aside one or two days each month to plan and script your content, then another day or two to film. This way, you're focused and efficient in each phase.

A good way of doing keyword research for your blog is to use tools like Google Docs and Sheets to list and organize your keywords. Spend just a few hours a month on this task and then send the list to your writer.

You should also use online tools to streamline your workflow. Use Notion for organizing ideas and planning, Google Drive for storing and sharing files, and Frame for video editing and feedback. These tools make it easier to manage your content and communicate with your team.

Spend some time each week managing your communities and answering emails. This helps you stay connected with your audience and can be done in just a few hours.

For automated tasks, create systems that can run on their own without much daily input. Use templates for emails and set up scheduled social media posts so you don't have to be online all the time.

And always keep learning and adapting. Watch how your audience reacts to your content and be ready to make changes.

By following these tips, you can run a successful business with just a few hours of work each day.

in this video I'm going to show you a very realistic view of running a million dooll business in about 90 minutes a day with a wife a newborn three dogs and a Turkish mother-in-law okay maybe not that last part but you know unlike other videos I'm not going to promise you how to make a million dollars working one hour per week I want to show you basically how I run two seven fig businesses in about 90 minutes a day or 47 hours a month a very realistic amount of time that is true and accurate which I'll show you in-depth hour by hour so we're going to cover how to batch your time the exact tools and workflows to use the content strategy the revenue streams and how we make over $150,000 a month from a single website and a single YouTube channel so let's get into it so quickly before we get into the exact hours I want to cover well what are we actually doing here well we have two assets we have about 10 employees we're running a Blog Adam enfroy decom just my personal brand blog that's one part of the business the other part is the YouTube channel so the Adam androy YouTube channel those are the only two assets I don't do Twitter I don't do LinkedIn I don't do Instagram or Tik Tok or anything like that that is it now this video is shot way in advance right now the date of the recording right now is August 6th so I have this video scheduled to be published on September 23rd so 48 days ahead of schedule now I'm doing this because I just had a baby and I'm trying to get far ahead to take some time off I haven't had any fraternity leave and I've been working pretty hard so I've gotten really far ahead now the date might change it might not even be September 23rd today it might be a different day that might have changed but I'm going to show you the workflow the process and where all this data is collected now the amount of content content produced is 20 articles for the blog and six YouTube videos per month that is it 26 pieces of content we're not repurposing on LinkedIn or Twitter or Instagram or anything like that now I used to do more I used to do like eight YouTube videos a month and shorts and Tik Tock videos and all that stuff but we found like it's just a lot of work for a lot of views but not a lot of monetization our business is all about monetization getting real Revenue with you know building a small following where no videos have to go viral but building a true following so if you're interested in some of that concept like watch a free AI Master Class get all my resources click the link in the description below sign up for that I'll send you everything so you can get started too with this whole process so for the YouTube channel you know we launched this uh 3 years ago or so we have hundreds of videos now and you can see down the list so we cover affiliate marketing blogging AI content youtube personal branding affiliate marketing all of that kind of stuff different thumbnails different titles you can see if you go back to like the oldest videos how the thumbnails just get worse and worse and worse over time until it's just the very beginning back in about 3 years ago when we started the channel so this one is getting about oh 3.7 million views so far this year about 7 months in this is more shorts views and now we're just getting we're getting about 300,000 views a month on the long form content which we find performs a lot better we can actually teach stuff and do tutorials there and then we also have uh my blog is getting more traffic so we're getting about this say 168,000 it's more like about 200,000 a month currently this was weekly users 43,000 so yeah we're pacing to 200 250,000 visits a month on the blog with new content strategies so how does the business make money well it's a personal brand so it makes money in four ways uh affiliate marketing course sales and communities sponsorships and ads so first like cor sales we can see this was last month $95,000 in net revenue for the new AI income blueprint course and then another1 18,000 for income University that's a Mr monthly recurring revenue for customers there then there's affiliate Revenue so there's multiple logins for the affiliate networks where we promote products like partner stack here you can see 177,000 16 3 23 25 25 so another typically around 20,000 a month from partner stack then we're in Impact radius we get PayPal payments all types of affiliate payments so Affiliates hovering around like $4 to $50,000 a month and then sponsorships are around $110,000 a month we just have a few sponsors we're working with and then ad revenue is about $10 to $15,000 a month so overall right now the time of this recording it's around $160,000 a month from a simple personal brand creating pieces of content every every month so how does it actually work well let's get into the actual overview of the of the process first let's cover YouTube so YouTube we're doing six videos a month what is the worklow like how do I actually create these well I use notion so notion is good for the ideas so I put it in here I used the spreadsheet for a while but I have notion so we can look back at like old videos and what we have here is a calendar tab with different course cards uh video cards we can say all right this video here I published a blog post every day for 6 months with AI I have a couple title ideas cuz I'm like I don't know maybe this is this is a secondary title idea we have a status who's working on it uh I have some notes in here like I like this thumbnail except change the colors change the text to move it around and the thumbnail actually ends up a lot different so you can come up like thumbnail ideas based on inspiration but then make them your own and then here I can add like the script is right here so we can look at it this is a scripted intro then these are just notes and I can like go over all the different notes through this video so it's examples things that I write so the prepping is either in Google Google a Google doc or just in a slide like a pitch presentation so this is a video I did on payperclick Advertising for Affiliates and you can see slides so this is helpful slides going through different stuff so you can do if you're teaching on YouTube it's either slides or Google Docs now when I'm filming my videos you can see I'm using Sony the Sony remote app so I can just click this stop button right here and it would stop the recording on the camera so I have a 1080p being recorded with the Sony camera the a7c and then a 50 mm lens that's really simple and then you can see this is recording the this is screen flow so screen flow is recording the screen and it's recording through this microphone so it's really just two files that I use for these videos it's going to be a screen share plus the audio recording and then the video the quality video recording itself this makes it easier I can be lazy I can just press the stop button if I want to stop now once I shoot a video I upload it to Google Drive and I update my notion card to say hey this is now under the video editor so I tag our video editor and then it goes into he does the edit and puts it into frame so he puts it into frame so frame's a cool like timeline editing tool so you can see like okay based on this video you can view the video and then you can make comments along the way so you can see any comments that people have you can add them here hey change this change this there's an error here do all of that so it goes through review and then it's marked as under review and then it goes to completed and then it's just uploaded to WordPress so for me personally by the time that I shoot the video and upload it to Google Drive my work is pretty much done so for YouTube videos most of my time is spent on like the pre-production I would say the ideation coming up with titles the thumbnail Concepts that I send to our editor uh the scripting the planning a lot of us just planning the Google Doc of format how do we teach this in the right way once I'm shooting it's like that's the easy part you have the fully prepared you know 30 minute video might take a couple hours to prepare but then once you shoot it it's not as long obviously it only takes as long as you do so usually though there's going to be some edits so if I'm shooting a 30 minute video it might be actually like 45 minutes of me in the raw file where I'm like looking around at stuff I forget what I'm talking about I tell luuka I'm like Luka take that last part out or I just slobbered on myself you know whatever it is but for YouTube the biggest you know time suck is going to be the ideation because it's a personal brand I can't like Outsource coming up with the ideas all right let's cover what I actually do for the blog now then we'll get into the monthly hourly time and how I batch my month so literally all that I do for my blog now is I put 20 keywords into it a spreadsheet to send to our writer Kevin literally that's all I do so every month I look at it and I add keyword so this is what I add in I add keyword here in this column title of what it should be if it's a short guide or not and then he adds the links here and publishes them so right now you can see like this is end of May end of June end of July all these are published and then we have more coming up so literally I do keyword research for the month and then I put 20 ideas into the spreadsheet so for example if we just look at you YouTube video ideas was a topical author are area I wanted to get into so we have funny YouTube video ideas number one travel YouTube video ideas number one with a featured snippet couple YouTube video ideas number one art YouTube video ideas number one with a snippet Finance snippet cooking YouTube video ideas snippet challenge lifestyle you get it videos for kids fortnite video ideas under some videos number one here so my blog it's probably 5 hours a month and that's keyword research and then kind of time random stuff so like I turn Banner like some recent updates on things turning banner ads back on uh increasing I increase blue host sales from zero to like 12 a month again started a PPC strategy do some other backend stuff but really it's like the blog is about 5 hours a month at this point so how long does this really take what does a month look like well one month is like this so for YouTube I batch my time so that's kind of the beauty of YouTube so if I have six videos per month that pretty much for me I try to get it in in like five working days but I make pretty long long freaking videos I mean you might see 2 and a half hour video on my channel that one's going to take longer than a 30 minute one um and I can also go hours when I first started YouTube I could only talk for like 15 minutes and then I burned out now I can do like five or six hours in a row it just gets easier over time but usually that's like on average 1 hour prepping a video one and I prep all six over the course of two days so maybe I spend 3 hours day one prepping three videos another day I'll prep three more and then on average it takes me about let's say 1 hour to shoot a video so between the prepping and shooting that's 12 hours total for the prepping and shooting of the YouTube videos now to come up with the video ideas that kind of happens just in the background of life like you come up with a random idea or you're doing some research I would say 5 hours a month on that so YouTube I spend about 17 hours a month on and I try my best to do that in a week so if I can get five working days in at the you know the last week of the month to finish the whole future month that's a really good feeling and then with the blog in that same week I do the keyword research and create the content plan in that last week as well so I can do 5 hours on the blog in that same week so really that's 17 plus 5 that's 22 hours total in the last week of the month and then that's 22 hours plus all the other stuff so I would say realistically you know there's 10 hours per month running the communities so we have two communities AI income blueprint which has 4,200 members we have a ton of events going on I mean look at this calendar we've got multiple live classes going on live q&as we're going through this right now we've got the classroom tab with with all the course content we had it's a coaching program so we can we have uh people have access to coaches they have access to all the tools and resources the spreadsheets the follow along guides all the content that we're still doing live in here uh and then even like the old courses so like blog growth engine 4.5 access that in here it's really a ton a ton of content so a lot of courses like they don't get updated or they're just short a couple hours this is like hundreds of hours of stuff if you add it all up plus Live Events plus all of that and then there's in University so income University is my live class session thing so I basically do a live class every week on something new so in there you can see there's different all kinds of different topics making money with AI agencies courses freelancing PPC emails YouTube content Niche selection local marketing agencies Pinterest SEO we cover everything and that's like it's kind of like a cool college experience because you can go in there and you know see new courses three courses every week kind of like a college but we teach actual new stuff in there but every month you know I have to prep some videos for income University and you know interact with answer questions do stuff like that so I'll say 10 hours per month running those communities five hours per month writing and editing emails so we do some promotions we do different marketing emails so I spend and I edit those we have a writer that doesn't but I edit them so probably five hours a month doing that I'll call five hours a month of random BS so accounting payments not going through putting out fires backend stuff trying to figure things out random stuff happens and then an extra five just to pad the stats a little bit with random thinking and planning just planning big picture video ideas promotions course updates how can we do better just how can we improve kind of taking a big picture look at the whole business so all in all it's 47 hours total per month in a given month you know I put in like 22 hours of the last week the remaining 25 hours Falls over the next 3 weeks so about 8 hours a week the remaining 3 weeks you notice running an information business like YouTube courses communities it's a lot more time intensive a lot more work than the blogging like the blogging is just 5 hours a month coming up with a keyword plan Outsourcing it sending it to a writer so the question is why do I do the YouTube and the community stuff well you can make a lot more money doing that and it's fun to teach it's more interactive I got bored with the blogging thing I did that I traveled around the world I moved back home I got extremely bored with just only having a Blog no really like people to talk to right like it got kind of boring um so I like teaching the YouTube strategies too but that's kind of a given month 47 hours of work now I need to mention one thing though this is the perfect month this barely ever actually happens because this isn't some Guru video telling you how to optimize your day and you know sip some wheat grass and then go in a cold plunge and then read a book on meditation and then work out for three hours before your day starts and then go read some more meditation and then go talk to your team and give a really impressive speech right this is actual real life here people this is real life so you know I don't paint and then watch watch the sunrise and then do yoga and then start working okay although I do have a yoga room in my house don't be jealous I just don't use it okay it is what it is I'm just trying to survive here I've got a three-month old baby at the time of this recording who is now probably four or five months old okay he grunts on me all the time he poops on me okay I'm just trying to get through the day I take the night shift but he's 3 months old he grunts he spits on my chest I mean we have three dogs we have three of them one's a French Bulldog he tries to like poop in the corner and then eats every leaf that he comes across it's a girl whatever I barely have time to eat I ate pizza at night I pass out I wake up and I'm like I got to shoot another YouTube video Even though I look like it's just the reality of life okay I wake up I shoot a video I have four hours of sleep and I smell like poop and cheese okay it's just that's what life is I got my haircut for the first time in two months people don't believe all these gurus just don't do it when he was born I didn't get ahead of schedule at all on YouTube God bless our video editor Luca for editing this but I was like hey uh I can't shoot a video maybe two days before it's has to be published so just edit it in a day whatever we'll just we'll figure it out so really if we think about it what did it actually look like in July well July we launched a i income blueprint a new product that's like 30 new live classes to plan and execute 15 AI Frameworks to create four weekly classes for income University six YouTube videos to figure it out thumbnails titles video content shoot the video start a new PPC strategy for the blog run promotional emails so I definitely worked more than 40 hours a week in July yeah so there's no passive income that's not a thing that doesn't exist like go live on a beach and sip some my ties and look at all this money entering your bank account it was much more passive when I was just blogging no I'm not complaining don't get me wrong I'm just trying to be realistic here we all have responsibilities families maybe some kids maybe some dogs it's a recession for God's sakes I got to work okay I got to put work in Warren Buffett sold all his stocks Apple stocks gone okay he sold it all again this video is six seven weeks old so it's outdated information in that regard you get the point I got ahead of schedule because I worked 40 plus hours in July running these businesses and now I can take the time off in August so I'm actually going to take like a month off and that's the benefit that I'm going for here you can build systems is not hey at least get some of your time back yeah we're going to do stuff but let's get some time back I'm not going to do anything I'm going to sit in the woods I'm going to run bark on myself I'm probably going to go to maybe a farmers market maybe a nice little Saturday maybe go to Home Depot look at some flooring I don't know if there's enough time maybe go to a corporate Steakhouse eat some lobster bisque change a diaper or two watch some movies play some video game you know we just got to get through our days sometimes don't focus on feeling bad if you're not making as much money as someone else a lot of these videos are motivational how I work uh here's a spreadsheet so I can work an hour every month I check in once a month on my private jet and then I'm done for the month I tell my my underlings to make my coffee create my business strategies and then I get on my Jet and I go around and you know I work one hour a month make a million dollars and if you're not doing that you're a loser I do Drop Shipping I do agency I do blogging AI I do all of it okay I do everything I do it all so anyway anyways um typically um Ideal World you can work 10 12 15 hours a week on this type of business you create systems you automate stuff but I think on average like 47 to 50 to 60 hours a month is a solid slow nice predictable month but as we know with the market and what things happen and changes of consumer behavior that never happens we're we're running an algorithm based business here people okay there's going to be storms there's going to be Google algorithm changes there's going to be YouTube stuff there's going to be people buying in certain ways but now this person did this so now we got to keep up with that so you're always kind of trying to stay ahead of it now as I said it's $160,000 a month in Revenue let's times that by 12 160 * 12 that is $ 1.92 million in Revenue averaged out let's just up it to two and I'm going to make a video and I'm going to say I make $2 million a year that's what people usually do they just say this this is the Topline Revenue how much money do you make and they name the revenue number well that's not the truth most people lie about that really when we think about it's 160k in Revenue there's 40K in expenses there's people you know there's five coaches in the communities five people there are coaching that's pretty good most people don't have that there's software there's marketing costs there's content writing there's me and my business partner Colin working together so 40K drops down to 120 but then when we think about ownership levels of multiple businesses it's probably I'm probably making more like 0 or something probably making and then you got to take taxes Uncle Sam our good friend that even though I'm running an online business I have to pay for you know roads and community and stuff I don't you know mind taxes I just wish I knew where they were going let's just say the effective tax rate of that is around 30 to 32% because I pay my taxes I don't watch those videos and say hey buy seven fake houses and then buy uh an SUV in your business name and then you know do an 831 company and although I did that in the past once and then you know you just do a bunch of Tax Strategies but really I'd say 50k a month is a pretty good month of take-home pay okay that's pretty good I'm not going to lie I was making $9 an hour working at a pizza place when I was 26 okay I was making 42,000 a year at my first job I remember if I had $2,000 in the bank account beginning of the month I was happy and prepared but if we take that 50k a month and we divided by the 47 hours I'm probably making about $1,000 an hour when I do work so not bad what I make in a month is about what I made in a year about eight years ago cuz really like with YouTube and blogging like if I stopped publishing like yes I would still get views on YouTube for all the old backlog of content I would still have blog traffic we could stop publishing now and that wouldn't change all that much which is nice but you got to keep growing life is about growth right you want to make sales get you know make some money have different revenue streams so stick to your publishing schedule use tools we use slack we use Google docss we use Google Sheets give your money to Google whatever they just lost a lawsuit did I mention this video is 6 weeks old I did a couple times um now if you're working full-time you got to set aside some time set aside a few hours to run this business so automate we live in this algorithm economy you're either a Content producer you're putting stuff out in the world and monetizing it or you are a Content consumer you're consuming this right now maybe you are on a couch maybe you are hopefully not listening to me in your bed about to fall asleep I'm probably putting you to sleep to be honest so if you're going to do that actually do fall asleep just keep watching the whole thing I'll just put a bunch of you know empty 10 hours of video at the end of this so you can just keep falling asleep and watching it for the algorithm grab a pen whatever don't worry about what your wife or your husband thinks just keep watching this video okay I'm almost done but really you know not everyone needs to be a Content producer you don't have to start a business if you're happy with your life continue what you're doing just I think life is about growth we want to you know at least feel like we are moving in the right direction with the business or with life or with Fitness or with family or with anything I kind of get equate it to you know the day before you go on vacation you're really excited it's the night before you're packing you're ready you're excited about the vacation but you're not on the vacation yet physically and then the last night of the vacation you're physically on the vacation but you're worried about going home and you're like I got to go home tomorrow so you're not enjoying the moment then I think you want to build a future that you're excited about that's really it whatever it is just enjoy it don't let YouTube videos and money dictate your happiness okay cuz YouTube commenters are insane most people hate to make money online content so you got to ignore a lot of the comments but if you like a video like this just comment you know say a random word say something interesting just let me know that you got this far in the video comment hamster like we always like to do but all jokes aside I wanted to kind of go on a little tangent there because I've been shooting a ton of videos lately and I just wanted to kind of give a realistic take you know this it isn't about meditation and the perfect strategy and reading books and doing that it's just like just put work in just do work and remove distractions and then try to have a balanced life of some kind now you're going to have to if you want to build a business full-time you will have to make sacrifices and do really work really really hard for a while to get to the point where you can take a business full-time most people don't make the leap from having a job and building a business business on the side to going full-time with that business because it just requires an insane amount of work I was when I started my blog I wanted to build the fastest growing blog so I probably put in 45 to 50 hours a week at my job and then another 50 hours a week on the blog for like seven straight months but I had determination I was ready to do it most people might not do that so ultimately with all of this nonsense I hope you found something useful in here either in the workflow batching time creating a Content calendar check out other videos if you want the deeper strategies on each individual thing and if you want click the link in the description below you'll get all my free resources my master class how to get started all the steps all of that so hope you like the video and you know like it if you want if not go about your day whatever you want to do and you know have a good week and I'll talk to you soon in six weeks from now whenever this video is being published
