Do this before signing a contract with a client

Summary

  • Before working with a new company, I always have a few calls to understand their business challenges and current strategies.
  • It's important to request access to their data, often under an NDA, so I can analyze it thoroughly.
  • I then develop a strategy tailored to help them meet their goals efficiently.
  • I provide a detailed presentation outlining the 12-month plan, including all deliverables, the team involved, and each person's role.
  • This entire process happens before signing a contract to ensure that my solution suits their needs.

How To Take Action

I would suggest starting with a few conversations to truly understand what you or your business needs to grow or what challenges you're facing. This helps to clearly identify goals and make informed decisions. It's like a detective gathering clues before solving a mystery!

Once you have clarity, it's important to gather and review any relevant data you can access. This might mean looking at sales figures, customer feedback, or anything that gives insight into your current situation. If privacy is a concern, consider signing a non-disclosure agreement to protect sensitive information.

Then, craft a tailored plan aimed at reaching the goals you’ve set. This plan could outline steps for the next year, detailing the tasks and responsibilities—you don’t need a large team, just a clear understanding of who does what, even if that's just you!

Before diving in, take time to present your plan to anyone involved. This can be a simple guide you can refer back to. It helps solidify your commitment to the actions needed and ensures everyone is on the same page.

Finally, make sure your strategy truly meets your needs before committing fully. This means reflecting on whether the plan is realistic, cost-effective, and in line with your vision. Adjust as necessary to make it the perfect fit for your journey forward.
