Betty Crocker used this crazy dark psychology trick to get people to buy more cakes they had this self- baked cake where people just add water to the powder and then boom pop it in the oven and you have a cake people didn't buy it they felt like it was cheating adding water to some powder mix and put it in the oven people felt that they weren't actually making the cake so what did they do they told them add the water and the Egg just as simple as that one change in where people now have to add an egg they felt that they were baking and cooking so people started feeling satisfied and bought their cake mix sometimes you got to let people put in the effort if you make things too easy for some people it makes them not want to do it in marketing we call this the hoop Theory when you make people go through hoops where you make things a little bit harder for people and then it gets easier and easier over time they feel more satisfied and they're much more likely to do it the way you can apply this to your business is simple things like a two-step checkout on the first field if you just asked for the name and email people like ah already did some of it on the Second Step they like ah might as well complete the rest
