AI Will NEVER Fully Replace The Need For Human Intervention (Here’s Why)!

Summary

  • I learned that having a human involved is crucial when using AI. This is called having a "human in the loop." It helps in making sure the AI works better and makes fewer mistakes.
  • An engineer at Google shared that one major challenge AI faces is dealing with misinformation. AI pulls information from all over the web, and since there is always new false information, it can be tricky to know what to keep and what to eliminate.
  • It's important for AI systems to cite sources to show where they got their information. This helps in understanding the accuracy of their answers.
  • Big tech companies like Google and others cannot completely eliminate misinformation because it's a very hard problem to solve, even for advanced systems.
  • Since it's hard to completely remove all errors, AI is never going to be perfect. This is why having humans check AI's work is essential.

How To Take Action

I would suggest implementing a strategy where you always have a human involved in processes that use AI. This person will help check and improve the information AI provides, making sure it’s accurate and useful. It’s kind of like having a trusty partner double-checking your work.

A good way to handle AI's challenges with misinformation is to make sure the AI’s sources are transparent. Encourage your team or yourself to look for AIs that cite where they’re getting their information. This helps you understand and verify the AI’s recommendations or insights.

Since completely eliminating errors is hard, try and maintain a mindset of continuous improvement. Regularly review AI outputs and compare them with known information. This keeps you ahead and ensures that you're always offering correct information to your customers or for your projects.

Remember that using AI is a teamwork effort. Make a checklist for checking AI-generated content. This can include verifying basic facts or comparing AI suggestions with several trusted sources.

By embedding these habits, you ensure that while AI speeds up tasks, the quality doesn’t drop. This won’t cost much time or money but adds great value by reducing mistakes and keeping your information trustworthy.

the big thing with AI is you really need a human in the loop I was talking to a Google engineer and this engineer works on Google's algorithms specifically with things like the AI overviews and their biggest problem is there's misinformation on the web but with AI it's pulling from everywhere on the web and every day there's new misinformation how do they know what to eliminate and what not to when it's giving you answers these are reasons why they site sources and why chat GPT is doing this and other players are copying because it's too hard for them to eliminate misinformation if this was possible Google would have done this years ago this is why AI is never going to be perfect
