Going viral doesn’t mean more revenue

Summary

  • I focus on creating content that solves problems for my ideal customer rather than chasing viral trends.
  • Viral content often ends up being very generic and doesn't necessarily drive revenue.
  • When I was younger, I wrote articles that went viral, like spending thousands on clothes or flying business class for a year. These gained attention but didn't generate any revenue.
  • My goal in marketing is to generate a return on investment (ROI), not just become famous.
  • Creating revenue-generating content brings me happiness in my marketing efforts.

How To Take Action

I would suggest focusing on creating content that directly addresses the needs and problems of your ideal customers. Instead of chasing trends or trying to go viral, think about what your customers actually struggle with and how you can help them solve those issues. This approach not only helps in building trust but also in generating more meaningful engagement and potential sales.

A good way of doing this is by researching frequently asked questions or common problems in your niche. Use this information to craft content that offers practical solutions. This method can be low-cost because it leverages the knowledge you already have and doesn't require expensive tools or campaigns.

Additionally, keep in mind that high-value content should aim to educate, inform, or entertain in a way that makes your audience's lives easier or better. This might involve writing articles, making videos, or even creating infographics that clearly highlight how your product or service is the solution they need.

Also, remember that the goal is not just to increase visibility but to ensure that visibility translates into action—like purchasing your products or services. This focus on ROI rather than fame will ultimately bring you more satisfaction, as it leads to tangible results in terms of revenue, not just recognition.
